Malmö, Sweden
August 27 - August 28, 2010
Following the first symposium held in 2008, the aim of this second symposium was to discuss in more depth the mechanisms and most recent clinical markers in studies of gene, environment, lifestyle interaction in relation to human reproduction. The meeting focused on epigenetics and the role of environmental exposure, life habits and cancer as environmentrelated risk factors for reproductive disorders and provided a 'forum' open to physicians and scientists working in infertility treatment, geneticists, experts in environmental and occupational medicine and people within the area of public health interested in the effects of the environment on reproductive function.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
After attending this symposium, participants will have an updated knowledge of:
- Effects of pre-natal and post-natal exposure to lifestyle related factors and to environmental pollutants on reproductive function.
- Mechanisms and role of epigenetics in reproductive disorders and infertility treatment.
- Tools for assessment of reproductive dysfunction due to lifestyle or environmentally related exposures.
- Mechanisms of environmentally related reproductive toxicity.

This symposium is intended for clinicians (gynecologists, andrologists, endocrinologists, pediatric endocrinologists, and oncologists), experts in genetics, reproductive, environmental and occupational medicine, basic scientists, embryologists, epidemiologists, statisticians and people within the area of public health.
Serono Symposia International Foundation (www.seronosymposia.org) will submit this program “Gene, Environment, Lifestyle Interaction in Human Reproduction” (Malmö, Sweden - August 27-28, 2010) for accreditation by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME).
