Biography

Robert D. Oates, M.D. is Associate Professor of Urology of Boston University School of Medicine and Co-Director of the New England Male Reproductive Center, Boston Medical Center in Boston, Massachusetts. Dr. Oates earned his B.A. from Johns Hopkins University in 1978. He earned his medical degree at Boston University School of Medicine in 1982. Dr. Oates was a Fellow, Male Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas and conducted his urology and general surgery residencies at Boston University Medical Center.

Dr. Oates is a member of several professional societies including the Massachusetts Medical Society, American Society of Reproductive Medicine, Boston Fertility Society, and American Society of Andrology. He is an adhoc reviewer for the New England Journal of Medicine, Human Reproduction, Fertility and Sterility, Journal of Urology, Urology, Molecular Human Reproduction and Journal of Andrology.

In addition, Dr. Oates is regularly a speaker on male infertility at seminars held throughout the United States. He has also written and co-authored numerous articles and contributed chapters to several books.
