March 12 - March 13, 2010
2010 Annual CME Meeting in Multiple Sclerosis
We now have over a decade of clinical experience in the use of DMDs to treat MS. Clinical trials have provided a wealth of information on these drugs, and ongoing studies continue to add to our knowledge of their safety and efficacy. Furthermore, the results of clinical trials of several new drugs in late-stage development for the treatment of MS suggest that we may soon have more treatment options. The aims of this edition of the annual conference in MS were to examine how we can optimize the use of therapies that are currently available and collect data about their effect, to consider how the arrival of new drugs will affect treatment choices and sequencing in MS, and to discuss the potential for combining therapies.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
By attending the conference, participants will:
- receive an update on drugs in development for MS
- be updated on new concepts for the therapeutic management of MS
- discuss the options for the use of old and new drugs in complex treatment protocols
- acquire criteria for predicting disease evolution in treated patients.
TARGET AUDIENCE
Clinicians involved in MS patient management.
Serono Symposia International Foundation (www.seronosymposia.org) will submit this program “Optimizing MS therapy - current treatment models and future options” (Rome, Italy - March 12-13, 2010) for accreditation by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME), the Royal College of Physicians and the Italian Ministry of Health.
