Aim of the conference

The treatment of multiple sclerosis is entering in a new era with the introduction of drugs that are characterized by novel mechanism of action, routes of administration, dosages and markers of efficacy and safety. These new compounds will not replace the ones already available, but will be combined with them in complex therapeutic protocols that will offer innovative options for treatment personalization, according to patient’s and disease’s characteristics, and will be aimed to reach ambitious goals such as 'freedom from disease activity'. The aims of this Conference were to provide a comprehensive overview of the scientific background of these drugs and give an opportunity to discuss how the daily practice will be adjusted to optimize patients’ management.

Learning objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants will be:

  • Updated on pharmacological targets of drugs that will be introduced in the treatment of multiple sclerosis
  • Informed about the available evidence concerning efficacy and safety of these new drugs
  • Updated on the implementation of these new therapeutic options in daily practice
  • Knowledgeable about ‘freedom from disease activity’ as a therapeutic goal in multiple sclerosis

Target audience

This program is appropriate for clinicians and scientists involved in multiple sclerosis management.
