Course Description: In this online video lecture, Professor Oksenberg, reviews the current pharmacogenomics knowledge of MS, addressing DNA variants and gene expression signatures reported to correlate with therapeutic responses. He also explores the available options to incorporate pharmacogenomics into routine clinical practice.
Course Description: In this online lecture, Professor Devonshire discusses the factors that affect adherence to prescribed medications. She presents data demonstrating the adherence and discontinuation rates for multiple sclerosis disease-modifying therapies. She discusses the areas in which change is needed, and the impact that the different roles within the healthcare team can have on patient adherence.
Course Description: The Immune Pathogenesis of Multiple Sclerosis course, written by Prof. Hartmut Wekerle will provide participants with an overview of immune pathogenesis of MS, current therapies for early, active and late progressive phases of MS, experimental treatments for MS and the complex interactions between T/B cells and sequential milieus and new therapeutic targets.
Course Description: This Management of Psychological Problems in Multiple Sclerosis course will provide participants with an overview of depression and coping in multiple sclerosis (MS). Dawn Langdon from Royal Holloway, University of London looks at the impact that depression has on people with MS, the coping strategies that can be adopted and how these psychological aspects of MS can affect the carer burden. This course is especially relevant for MS nurses.
Course Description: In multiple sclerosis management drugs are available with a good efficacy and safety/balance, in particular in the less severe forms of the disease. However, some unmet needs remain, such as late access to treatment of many patients at the early stages of the disease or the lack of response in more severe forms. While we are waiting for future options that will be offered by drugs now under investigation, specialists may exploit available treatments in order to optimize outcomes. This course is a unique opportunity to acquire a comprehensive update on alternative strategies suggested to improve the response to multiple sclerosis treatments. Based on his wide experience, Professor Comi, here reviews data on the early initiation of pharmacological therapy, the induction approach - as an alternative to the traditional escalating one, and combined treatments, including immunosuppressive compounds.
Course Description: The objective of this course is to provide participants with sufficient information about Multiple Sclerosis (MS) in order to ensure optimal disease and treatment management for persons with MS.
Course Description: This online CME program was produced jointly by The International Organization of Multiple Sclerosis Nurses (IOMSN) and Serono Symposia International, Inc. For more information on the IOMSN, please visit www.iomsn.org.The goal of this program was to provide nurses, physicians and pharmacists with a general overview of multiple sclerosis and some insight into their roles and responsibilities in its management.
Course Description: This program provided nurses, pharmacists and other healthcare professionals with practical and relevant information on issues surrounding immunomodulating therapies.
