A Symposium at the 6th European Congress Of Endocrinology
This symposium was designed to improve the working knowledge and skill of clinicians treating adult pituitary deficiencies. The program presented current data on the diagnosis and treatment of adult growth hormone deficiency (GHD), as well as the treatment of corticotropic and gonadotropic deficiencies.
OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this course the participant was able to:
- Describe the effects of growth hormone replacement on cardiac function and body composition in GH deficient adults.
- Acquire insight into an alternative test for the diagnosis of adult GHD.
- Discuss recent developments on the use of hormonal replacement in corticotropic and gonadotropic deficiencies.
This course is accredited by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) to provide the following CME activity for medical specialists. The EACCME is an institution of the European Union of Medical Specialists (UEMS), www.uems.be.
The “Management of Adult Pituitary Deficiencies” is designated for a maximum of 2 hours of European external CME credits. Each medical specialist should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the educational activity.
EACCME credits are recognized as Physician’s Recognition Award by the American Medical Association.
