This symposium was designed to improve the working knowledge and skill of clinicians treating patients with GH disorders. The symposium also gave some insights into the use of databases in the field of metabolic endocrinology.
This Satellite Symposia was open to registered participants of the 11th Meeting of the European Neuroendocrine Association.
OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this symposium, the participant was able to:
- Understand the importance of observational data from adult growth hormone (GH)-deficient patients by tracking the outcomes of routine clinical practice and by performing sub-studies on specific aspects of disease and therapy;
- Understand the role of observational studies in evaluating the differences in growth hormone deficiency management at the regional and global levels;
- Identify and properly manage the specific aspects of the GH deficiency transition period from childhood to adulthood;
- Understand the long term efficacy and safety of GH therapy in adults, and implications of stopping treatment;
- Describe the impact of GH therapy on cardiovascular risk factors and disease.
This program “Innovations in GH therapy: the power of observation” was submitted for accreditation by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME).
CME accreditation for this program was applied to from the Italian Ministry of Health.
