Buenos Aires, Argentina
November 16 - November 18, 2004
The aim of the symposium was to present clinicians with a complete understanding of the physical, molecular and neurological changes that take place during the development of adrenarche and gonadal puberty in humans, and to provide information on the most current research on pubertal disorders. Clinicians used information obtained during the symposium to analyze the mechanisms involved in the development of adrenarche and gonadal puberty in humans.
OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this course the participants were able to:
- Stimulate the formation of an understanding regarding the molecular mechanisms related to human sexual development and their clinical implications.
- Enhance understanding of the physiologic change of adrenarche and its molecular base.
- Understand the genetic basis of reproduction disorders.
- Demonstrate competency in the various characteristics of pubertal disorders.
- Analyze the findings and discuss the clinical implications of the most recent human adrenarche research.
- Discuss the impact of the most recent treatment discoveries in pubertal disorders.
TARGET AUDIENCE
Pediatric endocrinologists, endocrinologists, biologists and physiologists interested in the maturational changes of human adrenals and of the hypothalamo-pituitary-gonadal axis.
This program “Human Adrenarche and Puberty” will be submitted for accreditation by the European Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME).
