Biography
PD Dr. Klaus Mohnike is Senior Physician at the Department of Pediatrics, Otto-von-Guericke-University, Magdeburg, Germany. He received his medical degree from the Humboldt-University, Berlin (Germany), where he also trained as a Pediatrician, qualifying in 1980. He has undertaken research at a number of universities and research institutions in Europe and North America. Dr. Mohnike researched the insulin receptor during ontogenesis at the Institute of Biology, Semmelweis University, Budapest, Hungary. He also did research on Hypoglycemia at the Institute of Child Health, Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. From 1993-1994, he worked with research teams in the Pediatrics and Cell Anatomy Departments at the Medical University of South Carolina, Charleston (USA). Dr Mohnike’s main research interests include the IGF-signal system in malignant diseases, and Hypoglycemia. His clinical research focusses on growth disorders.

Biography
Paul Saenger, M.D. is Professor of Pediatrics at Albert Einstein College of Medicine/Montefiore Medical Center and Director of the Division of Pediatric Endocrinology. He received his medical degree from the University of Munich and obtained his endocrine training at Cornell University Medical College. Dr. Saenger has published more than 140 research papers and has recently edited a book on health care issues for patients with Turner syndrome. His research interests include androgen metabolism and pubertal disorders. Dr. Saenger currently serves on the Editorial Boards of the Journal of Pediatrics, Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism and Endocrine Practice; he is associate Editor of Hormone Research. Dr. Saenger is past President of the New York Diabetes Association and served on the Board of the Lawson Wilkins Pediatric Endocrine Society and American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists.
