The Australasian Society for Dermatology Research (ASDR) is a not for profit organisation whose mission is to promote dermatology research in Australia. Affiliated with the Society of Investigative Dermatology in the USA and the Japanese Society for Dermatology Research, the ASDR unites clinicians and scientists participating in Dermatology Research. The second Annual Scientific Meeting of the ASDR was held immediately prior to the 38th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Australasian College of Dermatologists.
The focus of the ASDR meeting is original scientific research, including basic skin biology, cutaneous immunology, stem cell research and pharmacology and is different to the clinical focus of the ACD meeting.
The ASDR meeting provided a forum for dermatologists, immunologists and other medical practitioners to present their research alongside senior scientists and junior researchers.
OBJECTIVES
At the conclusion of this program, the participant was able to:

- Apply new scientific methodologies, tools and applications in the workplace;
- Identify and illustrate recent advances in cutaneous pharmacology, including antisense therapy and biological fusion molecules that may hve a bearing on the future delivery of patient care; and
- Formulate, collaborate and present new research ideas in a scientific forum that allows for scrutiny.
