The following course is based on a presentation at the Serono Symposia International Foundation event Psoriasis: From Scientific Potential to Clinical Reality which took place in Barcelona, Spain February 17-18, 2006.
This course will introduce you to the patient’s perspective for the treatment and management of psoriasis.
Patients want to be treated with a safe and effective therapy that provides a long term control of their psoriasis which will improve their quality of life.
A patient focused treatment model can be an answer.
LEARNING OBJECTIVES
The learning objectives of this course are:
- To review the impact of psoriasis on patients’ physical and mental health
- Discuss current treatments and patient issues related to those therapies.
- Identify the need to understand the psoriasis co-morbidity with respect to how these influence psoriasis treatment.
- Introduce the patient centered clinical method and compare it to the traditional systemic therapy
- Introduce the new paradigm of physician choice and the benefits of the continuous treatment as opposed to the rotational one.
