Serono Symposia International Foundation (SSIF) supports the EU project ‘New methodological tools for policy and program evaluation’ (www.drugpolicyevaluation.eu).
The overall goal of this project is the expansion of knowledge on the segmentation of the drug market (demand side) according to the intensity of use (lifestyles) and of the used substances, creation of a matrix and analysis of different behaviors related to the combination users-substances and estimation of the various populations involved in drug use and dealing. Introduction of new indicators for monitoring actions and policies specific for the various populations. Expansion of knowledge on the laws in action and dynamics of the market (supply side) to produce new global indicators to evaluate actions and policies of supply reduction.
The Drug Policy Evaluation project includes seven ‘workstreams’. SSIF is supporting a scholarship on Impact of drug use in newborn hospitalization within Workstream 7: Development of comprehensive indicators to evaluate policies and programs under health damages and treatments and under crime reduction. This workstream is lead by Professor Carla Rossi from university of “Tor Vergata” Rome – Italy.
