In 2002 the Serono Symposia International Foundation (SSIF) was created in Europe carrying forward a long-standing tradition of excellence in medical education all over the world since the very early 1970s inherited from the global Serono Symposia International organization.
The latter was originally founded to honor the memory of Cesare Serono, an Italian-born Scientist who dedicated his life to improve human health and patient care.
Over the past four decades the global SSI organization has developed over 1000 international scientific congresses and published more than 300 proceedings with the most important international publishers.
Serono Symposia International Foundation has its Headquarters in Geneva (Switzerland) and its Representative Office in Rome (Italy).
The high scientific level and quality of SSIF activities are guaranteed through the Foundation’s international Scientific Committee composed of acknowledged academics in various therapeutic areas.
SSIF conferences and workshops provide unique opportunities where physicians and healthcare professionals can meet with the world leading experts to learn about the latest scientific developments as well as exchange ideas in an open and stimulating environment.
Programs developed and implemented by the Foundation adhere to the strictest ethical and education standards of the practice of medicine.
